    Jesus is Your Friend

Words and Music by Cassandra Lokker

She called me on the telephone a little past one on a summer afternoon/

Her tears were falling, and she longed for someone she could pour her heart out to/

She was hurting and filled with pain and loss/

The friendship she had lost that day was worth far beyond a cost.

Moments later we sat and talked/

She told me of her fears/

And although I didn’t know what to say, I lent a listening ear/

I prayed to God to give me strength and the words to give her hope/

And when she left my house that day, I knew she would learn to cope.

‘Cause He feels all her pain/

And He’s crying with her in the cold and dreary rain/

     He’ll never leave her/

He’ll be there ‘til the end/

     Don’t give up/

     Don’t lose hope/

     Jesus is your friend.

So face the days ahead of you/

God’s love is here to stay/

     He’ll never leave you stranded/

     There’ll always be a way/

     You may be feeling empty/

     You may be feeling blue/

But no matter what, He understands and knows what you’re going through.

‘Cause He feels all your pain/

And He’s crying with you in the cold and dreary rain/

     He’ll never leave you/

He’ll be there ‘til the end/

     Don’t give up/

     Don’t lose hope

     Jesus is your friend.

A smile will light your eyes one day/

     The happiness will come/

Just hold on to the promises of a sure, enduring love/

The sun will shine warm rays again/

     The clouds will disappear/

And a gentle hand will wipe away every single falling tear.

     Beam of Hope

Words and Music by Cassandra Lokker

Disheartened and discouraged, a hopelessness inside/

A dreaded diagnoses, so many who have died/

Dear loved ones have departed, a legacy left behind/

A dream, a hope for the future, a cure some day to find/

So we will work together and walk hand in hand/

We can make a difference.  United we will stand/

With faith we’ll make tomorrow bright.  We’ll find a way to cope/

As one we’ll keep the dream alive, reaching for the beam of hope/

In memory of the ones who’ve passed so bravely from this earth/

We’ve found a hope to carry on.  The light of life is birthed/

We’ll keep on striving toward our goal.  With conviction we will run/

We won’t give up the battle until victorious we’ve won/

Illuminate the darkness.  Shine the hopeful beam/

Give life a fighting chance.  Reach out and grasp the dream.

     Dream

Words and Music by Cassandra Lokker

In days of childhood innocence, life was fresh and new/

Curiosities and questions: where to go, what to do/

The world seen through simplistic eyes is never what it seems/

But nothing can shatter future hopes and dreams.

Dream… with conviction in your soul/

     Dream… aspire toward the goal/

Don’t ever settle for second best/

     With perseverance, pass the test/

     The future thrives with possibility/

     To dream becomes reality.

     Minutes turn to hours/

     Hours turn to days/

The future is uncertain in so many ways/

Growth and realistic views abolish simple trust/

With strength and dedication we must…

Dream… with conviction in our souls/

     Dream… aspire toward the goal/

Don’t ever settle for second best/

     With perseverance, pass the test/

     The future thrives with possibility/

     To dream becomes reality.

     To dream becomes reality.

     When the Angels Sing

Words and Music by Cassandra Lokker and Harlan De Jong

On that blessed night, shone a holy light/

As the angels came to adore/

Born in Bethlehem, came to save all men/

      Our Savior, Jesus, our Lord.

And when the angels sing, “Glory to the King”/

      We’ll celebrate His love together/

As our voices rise, lifted to the skies/

We’ll shout and sing His praise forever.

As we follow Him, Christ will shine within/

For in Jesus, all are complete/

When our life is through, we will shine anew/

As we sit and sing at His feet.

     Best Friends

Words and Music by Cassandra Lokker

The time of yesterday has passed; we’ve traveled through the years/

Sometimes separated, sharing laughter and tears/

But still we carried on through time; we took it day by day/

We prayed no matter what would come, best friends we’d stay.

We’re best friends, forever meant to be, bonded together in this friendship unity/

God gave us each other, a love, a hope to bring/

And I thank Him always for His plan in everything

So now look to the future.  I’ll stay here by your side.  In our hearts we’ll be together/

Our secrets we’ll confide.  Wherever life will take you, you’ll never be alone/

We’ll always hold the memories, and I want you to know.

The time of yesterday has passed; we’ve traveled through the years…

My Jesus, I Love Thee Traditional

My Jesus, I Love Thee Traditional

      My Jesus, I love thee, I know thou art mine;

For thee all the follies of sin I resign.

      My gracious Redeemer, my Savior art thou;

If ever I loved thee, my Jesus, 'tis now.

I love thee because thou hast first loved me,

      And purchased my pardon on Calvary's tree;

      I love thee for wearing the thorns on thy brow;

If ever I loved thee, my Jesus, 'tis now.

      In mansions of glory and endless delight;

      I'll ever adore thee in heaven so bright;

      I'll sing with the glittering crown on my brow;

If ever I loved thee, my Jesus, 'tis now.

     Welcome to the Family

Words and Music by Cassandra Lokker

Yesterday we prayed for you, not knowing where you were/

We asked the Lord to give you love, to bless him or her/

We didn’t know when you’d arrive.  We didn’t know your name/

But still we kept you in our prayers until the day you came.

Welcome to the family.  Our love for you will stay/

You’re special to each one of us in a special kind of way/

You’ll never find yourself alone.  We’ll be there at your side/

You’ll find a home of peace and love in which you can abide.

Today we thank the Lord for you, a precious gift of love/

We pray that as the years go by you’ll look to Him above/

We know He holds the future/

And we pray some day you’ll see that just like us, He loves you/

You’re a part of His family.

Welcome to God’s family.  His love for you will stay/

You’re special to the Lord above in a special kind of way/

You’ll never find yourself alone.  He’ll be there at your side/

You’ll find a home of peace and love in which you can abide.

You’ll find a home of peace and love, forever to abide.

     Fill Me

Words and Music by Cassandra Lokker

Tonight my heart is heavy, but why I cannot say/

I faced the day with ready smile, hiding my thoughts away/

But now the quiet surrounds me— silence the only sound/

I’m lifting up a desperate prayer that in You I might be found.

Send a roaring river to wash away my pain/

Remove the marks of sin and guilt that leave a crimson stain/

And melt away this great façade I struggle to maintain/

      Fill me.  Fill me.

Another night of solitude— I feel Your presence here/

But I long to feel Your closeness that I once held so dear/

I’m overwhelmed with questions that battle in my mind/

But in time I know this all will fade/

My peace in You I’ll find.

Surround me with Your peace and love that I might seek to gain/

Send Your healing downpour in a driving, cleansing rain/

And take away these empty things ‘til only You remain/

      Fill me.  Fill me.

      Fill me.  Fill me.

     Footsteps

Words and Music by Cassandra Lokker

Footsteps in the fog on a cold, December day/

The calendar it lies; there is no snow/

And as this Christmas nears, uncertainty fills me with doubts and fears/

And I cry, asking why, and I don’t know.

You walk beside me though I cannot see Your face/

The dismal gray of morning could never hide me from Your grace/

Your open arms are waiting to enfold me in Your love/

And the sunlight is Your promise as the mist dispels above.

Footsteps in the sand on an endless, summer’s day/

      Sometimes I stumble, I fall/

      You hold my hand/

And as You draw me near/

I feel You lift me from doubt and fear/

And I see You’re leading me, and I know that…

     Doxology Traditional

Praise God from whom all blessings flow.

Praise Him, all creatures here below.

Praise Him above, ye heavenly host.

Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
